What is NATCROMO? Well, it is National Crochet Month. The whole month of March is NATCROMO. I plan on celebrating by crocheting every day.
I have several projects on my hooks....
1. baby blanket
2. towel toppers
3. giant granny square afghan
If I finish these then I plan on starting scarves, squares, and some shawls. With these items I plan on donating. Just need to find a Charity to donate them to.
I am sure my mother or grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was younger. But, I don't remember. So shortly after my first child was born I started reteaching myself to crochet. Even tho its been many years now that I have been crocheting, I still consider myself a beginner.
I would also love to share my love of crochet with my 5 yr old. She keeps asking me to teach her and I am not sure how to go about that. I have never taught anyone to crochet. Would love some help or tips.
Back to the hook and yarn.....

Lost time.....
Happy New Year!! I know I am a little late.
My it has been a while since I was here last.... Lets see if I can catch up in a short post....
60 scarves in 60 days challenge - I said I wanted to try for 3 to 4. Well, I actually made a total of 8 scarves. Sent all 8 of them to the Special Olympics.
Finished the one blanket I was working on. Gave it to MIL for her birthday and she loved it. Plus I worked on numerous other items like baby blankets, shawls, towel toppers, other scarves.
Had a busy Holiday Season with family. Going here and there. Sigh. They are nothing like the ones I remember from when I was a child. Only had to go to my Grandparents house. But these holidays are just as special to me. I always enjoy time with the family!!
Celebrated my 17th Wedding Anni back in December. Wow!! My hubby is a wonderful man to put up with me for all these years and with more to come.
Also celebrated my Daughters "Sweet 16". I can remember sitting outside when pregnant, talking to her and telling her it was ok and it was time to come and meet her mommy and daddy. And now I have to tell her to slow down and stop growing up.
Have had some issues with my back and have had a Medial Branch Block thing done. Doc said it could take 4 to 6 weeks to see the full result. I pray this works for I am tired of being in constant pain.
I think that is just about it. Not much really exciting has happened here.
I will continue to crochet, and maybe learn to knit this year.
I hope to not be gone as long as I was...

Well I have finished a total of 4 scarves for the Special Olympics. Need to download picture of the other two later and add to this post. Now all I have to do is get a large envelope so I can get them in the mail.
Looking at the Walmart by me, they have no more Delft Blue left. I sure hope that is a good sign and that others are busy crocheting or knitting up scarves. I will continue to look for more yarn, as I rather enjoyed crocheting these scarves up. I would love to do more if I am able to. I will have to enlist my family to keep their eyes out for more for me.
So for now I am going to go back and work/finish a prayer shawl that I have been working on and off an for a while. I am looking around to see where I can donate the shawls that I make. I might try and sell a few too. Who knows what I will do.....
I also have a blanket I need to finish. I really need to get this one done. As I was asked by someone if they bought the yarn would I make them an afghan and of course I said yes. Well, then I got pregnant with my youngest and got side tracked. I think waiting about 5 years is too long to wait. So, that is a goal I have set for myself is to get it done sometime this year.

Still sick and scarves
I am still sick. My head is all stuffed up and it seems like everytime I move I start coughing. I really hate being sick. My youngest seems to be over it for the most part. Just a little cough every now and then. But, my Dear Hubs has it now. He seems worse then I do. I am praying that the other two kids do not catch this cold/flu thing that is going around.
The good news is I have been able to crochet a bit and I have completed two scarves for the "60 Scarves in 60 Days Challenge". I said I wanted to do 3 or 4 and I believe that I will be able to meet this goal. It feels really good to be able to do this. I still need to take pictures of them, so I will post pics later tonight of the scarves.
Well, I am off to rest a bit. Need to get over this soon....

Crochet
I have been crocheting on and off over the years. I will look for somewhere to post some pictures of some of my completed items. Will post more about that when I find a place. Any suggestions from all the pros out there?
Anyways this year I have an itch to crochet some items not just for family and friends, I feel a strong urge to use my skill to help others in need.
So with tomorrow being September 12th and it is International Crochet Day. For more info on this check out Jimbo's Blog; http://www.jimbosfrontporch.blogspot.com/ . I plan to rest as much as I can, since I caught my daughters cold and I am gonna crochet some scarves. Which means I am going to join the Fifth Annual "60 Scarves in 60 Days". For more info about this please check out Dee's blog; http://journals.aol.com/crochetwithdee/CrochetWithDee. I am hoping to get 3 or 4 scarves done for this challenge and what better way to do it then on International Crochet Day. The scarves that I plan on doing will be going to the Special Olympics ;http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Features/Special+Olympics.htm.
Wish me luck as this is a first for me.
I will post my accomplishments sometime over the weekend.
